CBD Lotion Bars
These CBD lotion bars are easy to make, and can be infinitely adapted once you learn the basic recipe. This recipe makes 7 lotion bars, each bar will contain about 142mg of CBD!
3oz Beeswax bars or pellets
3oz Shea Butter
4oz Fractionated Coconut Oil
1 gram CBD Isolate (~1,000mg CBD)
2oz sweet almond oil or apricot kernel oil
32oz mason jar (the large ones)
Standard muffin tin
Parchment muffin papers
Wood stirring stick
Fill the medium saucepan a little less than halfway with water, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low.
Measure out the beeswax, shea butter, and oils and put inside the mason jar.
Set the mason jar inside the pot of boiling water.
Stir the ingredients together until they melt together (about 3-5 minutes)
Remove the glass mason jar from the pot.
Stir in the CBD isolate, until it has dissolved. Stir thoroughly to make sure the isolate is evenly distributed.
Place the muffin papers in the muffin tin.
Pour the melted mixture into the muffin tin, lined with the parchment papers. Filling the papers all the way will yield about 7 bars. You can always make each bar smaller.
Set the muffin tin in a cool place out of direct sunlight, and allow your lotion bars to harden.
Once the lotion bars have hardened, remove them from the tray. Store your lotion bars in a plastic container away from heat and direct sunlight.
Lotion bars will keep for up to 6 months if kept in a cool, dry place.
Peel the muffin paper away from the bar, and rub the lotion bar directly on your skin. Always consult with you doctor to learn if CBD is right for you!
